This Keto Headache is Going Down!
Yes, I do feel much better today, although the keto headache is still there. Not the major take me down type throbbing of yesterday.
I think I’m settling into the routine of what to eat for nutritional ketosis. I may have been over complicating it a bit. I think I did better today, but I did go over on the protein a bit. Basically, I simply tried to add fat to my protein.
So in the case of lunch, I had canned salmon and added a tablespoon of mayo to it to keep my ratios going.
Here’s a breakdown of today’s food on my ketogenic diet:
- 3 c coffee with half & half
- 1 oz macadamia nuts
- 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1 tsp butter
- ½ avocado, ½ can salmon, 1 tbsp mayo
- 3 oz steak, 1 tbsp mayo
- 1/3 c whipcream/jello dessert
This gave me a ratio of 79/16/4. It was the first time I was able to get my carbs to 5% or less. But you will notice the absence of veggies today! I still can’t quite wrap my head around this!
One thing for sure though is that I was not hungry today. Fat makes me feel not full, but satisfied. It’s the weirdest thing.
I also spent at least an hour doing heavy weed pulling, I mean I was sweating and my heart rate was up. Sure felt good to get some physical activity like that, my knee has been keeping me from doing so many of the things I love. Even walking is out of the question, no weight bearing allowed. But with the gardening, I can shift my weight over to the good leg while I pull the weeds.
So my breakdown today was Calories 1550, Carbs 19, Fat 133 and protein 63.
